Senior Center Sets Schedule

The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. Interested individuals may call the center at 717-367-7984 for more information or to make reservations.

On Thursday, March 7, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., a "Me" Craft at 10:30 a.m., All About Me - Sharing at 11:15 a.m., and pinochle and bridge at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be baked meatloaf with gravy, baked potatoes with margarine, a mixed bean medley, white bread, and cherry chip cake.

Activities on Friday, March 8, will include walking at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., Vaughn's Challenge at 11 a.m., and a TGIF dinner at 5 p.m. Lunch will be baked salmon with white wine cream sauce, white rice and mixed vegetables, wheat bread, and pineapple tidbits.

The schedule on Monday, March 11, will include walking at 9 a.m.; laddergolf at 9:30 a.m.; Strength, Stretch, and Balance at 10 a.m.; Family Feud at 10:45 a.m.; and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be a breaded chicken sandwich on a roll with condiments, parsley potatoes, and mandarin oranges.

On Tuesday, March 12, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., a morning stretch at 9:30 a.m., a visit from a preschool class at 10 a.m., Pennies From Heaven at 10:30 a.m., and a 10-Minute Tasty Tip at 1 p.m. Lunch will be roasted pork loin with gravy, whipped potatoes with chives, lima beans, white bread, and sliced apples.

The schedule on Wednesday, March 13, will feature walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii Bowling at 10 a.m., a medication take-back at 10 a.m., a '60s TV Challenge at 11 a.m., and Central Penn Commodity Food Boxes at 1 p.m. Lunch will be a porcupine ball with tomato sauce, garlic whipped potatoes, and corn.
