The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. On Thursday, July 25, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m.; shuffleboard, bean bags, and lawn darts at 10:30 a.m.; and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be a barbecued ribette, whipped sweet potatoes, creamy coleslaw, white bread, and sliced pears.
The schedule on Friday, July 26, will include walking outside at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., The Year Is ... at 11 a.m., and a TGIF dinner at 5 p.m. Lunch will be baked meatloaf with gravy, a baked potato with margarine, wax beans, wheat bread, and fresh watermelon.
Activities on Monday, July 29, will include walking at 9 a.m., laddergolf at 9:30 a.m., bingo at 10:30 a.m., and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be roasted sliced turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrots, wheat bread, and a cookie.
On Tuesday, July 30, the schedule will feature walking at 9 a.m., a morning stretch at 9:30 a.m., The Price Is Right at 10:30 a.m., and Jenga at 1 p.m. Lunch will be penne and meatballs with sauce and Parmesan cheese, tossed salad with tomato, Italian bread, and warm peach crisp.
Youths from LCBC will visit on Wednesday, July 31. Additional activities that day will include walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii Bowling at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and table games at 10 a.m. Lunch will be a honey mustard chicken sandwich with cheese, Parmesan redskin potatoes, mixed vegetables, and mandarin oranges.
