Senior Center Sets Schedule

The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. On Thursday, Aug. 8, the center will offer walking outside at 9 a.m., musical entertainment at 10:30 a.m., and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be mandarin chicken salad with mixed green cucumber blue cheese, cranberries, three bean salad, a whole grain dinner roll, and a cookie.

Activities on Friday, Aug. 9, will include walking outside at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., Vaugh's Challenge at 11 a.m., and a TGIF dinner and pinochle party at 5 p.m. Lunch will be served meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, wheat bread, and mixed fruit.

On Monday, Aug. 12, the schedule will feature walking outside at 9 a.m., laddergolf at 9:30 a.m., Pennies From Heaven at 10:30 a.m., and pinochle at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, wheat bread, and mixed fruit.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, the center will offer walking outside at 9 a.m., a morning stretch at 9:30 a.m., Would You Rather...? at 10:30 a.m., an ice cream social with visitors from the Kids Center at 11:30 a.m., and Reminisce County Fair at 1 p.m. Lunch will be pineapple glazed ham, whipped sweet potatoes, green beans, wheat bread, and sliced pears.

Activities on Wednesday, Aug. 14, will include walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii bowling and table games at 10 a.m., Ukulele Band at 2 p.m., and Seniors in GEARS at T.J. Rockwell's at 4 p.m. Lunch will be roast beef and dumplings, creamy coleslaw, a whole grain dinner roll, and warm sliced peaches.
