The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. On Thursday, Nov. 21, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., a card-making craft at 10 a.m., shuffleboard trivia at 10:30 a.m., Walk With Ease at 12:30 p.m., and pinochle at 1 p.m. Lunch will be pumpkin Alfredo chicken over bowties, tossed salad with tomatoes, Italian bread, and pineapple tidbits.
The schedule on Friday, Nov. 22, will include walking at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., a town meeting at 11 a.m., Walk With Ease at 12:30 p.m., and a TGIF dinner and bingo party at 5 p.m. Lunch will be a sloppy joe on a whole-grain sandwich roll, ranch-seasoned potatoes, green beans, and mandarin oranges.
Activities on Monday, Nov. 25, will include walking at 9 a.m., shuffleboard and lawn darts at 9:30 a.m., a mindfulness activity at 10:30 a.m., and Walk With Ease at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be cottage pie, which is stewed beef and vegetables in gravy topped with mashed potatoes, along with coleslaw, whole-grain bread, and warm cinnamon applesauce.
On Tuesday, Nov. 26, the schedule will include walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., bingo at 10:30 a.m., and "Why We Give Thanks" at 1 p.m. Lunch will be creamy chicken divan over white rice, tossed salad with tomato, a breadstick, and peaches.
The center's activities on Wednesday, Nov. 27, will include walking at 9 a.m., bingo exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii bowling or table games at 10 a.m., Seniors Helping Seniors at 10:30 a.m., Lunch Bunch at Hershey Bistro at 11 a.m., and Ukulele Band at 2 p.m. Lunch will be baked ham with fruit sauce, whipped sweet potatoes, warm beets, wheat bread, and fresh fruit.
