The Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, invites area seniors to its upcoming programs. The center, a service of GEARS and the Lancaster County Office of Aging, is open regularly on Mondays through Fridays. On Thursday, Dec. 5, the schedule will include walking at 9 a.m., music with Al Shade at 10:30 a.m., Walk With Ease at 12:30 p.m., and pinochle at 1 p.m. Lunch will be a chicken Caesar club on a sandwich roll with lettuce, tomato, and cheese, along with creamy broccoli soup and blushed pears.
Activities on Friday, Dec. 6, will include walking at 9 a.m., Bible study or table games at 10 a.m., a question-and-answer session with the director at 11 a.m., Walk With Ease at 12:30 p.m., and a TGIF dinner at 5 p.m. Lunch will be baked ziti with meatballs, marinara sauce, and cheese, along with tossed salad with cucumber and dressing, a garlic breadstick, and mixed fruit salad.
On Monday, Dec. 9, the center will offer walking at 9 a.m., shuffleboard at 9:30 a.m., Nutrition With Kilene at 11 a.m., Walk With Ease at 12:30 p.m., and pinochle at 1 p.m. Lunch will be sweet and sour pork loin, blended rice pilaf, green beans, a whole-grain dinner roll, and mixed fruit.
The schedule on Tuesday, Dec. 10, will feature walking at 9 a.m., bingo exercise at 9:30 a.m., an activity with a preschool at 10 a.m., Pennies From Heaven at 10:30 a.m., and a 10-Minute Tasty Tip at 1 p.m. Lunch will be chicken stew, pepper slaw, a whole-grain dinner roll, and peaches.
On Wednesday, Dec. 11, activities will include walking at 9 a.m., chair exercise at 9:30 a.m., Wii bowling or table games at 10 a.m., and Ukulele Band at 2 p.m. Lunch will be baked meatloaf marinara with mozzarella topping, garlic whipped potatoes, Parmesan corn, wheat bread, and pineapple.
