Senior Commons at Powder Mill, 1775 Powder Mill Road, York, will host a concert of patriotic tunes and marches by the Red Lion Felton Band on Tuesday, June 28, at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. A complimentary strawberry shortcake dessert will be available, and there will be chances to win gift baskets. Senior Commons at Powder Mill, managed by Heritage Senior Living, recently received the Best Independent Living designation - the highest possible rating in the independent living category - on U.S. News & World Report's inaugural Best Senior Living list of independent living, assisted living, memory care and continuing care retirement communities across the country. The status reflects senior living communities that were able to satisfy U.S. News & World Report's statistical assessment of performance from consumer-satisfaction surveys given between March 2021 and February 2022, reflecting the viewpoints of more than 200,000 current residents of senior living communities nationwide and their family members.
In consumer-satisfaction surveys, residents and their families evaluated factors such as community and activities, caregiving, food and dining and management and staff.
