Chiques United Methodist Church, 1215 E. Main St., Mount Joy, will host a free program, "The Life of a Service Dog," at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, in Sloan Fellowship Hall.
Joan Patterson will speak about the training service dogs undergo to develop their special skills, as well as how the dogs serve the people with whom they are matched. The program will begin with a brief devotional and will conclude with refreshments.
The event is sponsored by the Chiques Elderberries seniors group.
