In May, September House is featuring a circus theme. The themed events will continue on Tuesday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to noon with a circus-related "Surprise Program." On Thursday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m., seniors may decorate cupcake clown faces in preparation for the senior center's party on Friday, May 31. On the day of the party, attendees may show up dressed like clowns or bring their costumes and change at the senior center. The event will feature skits and improv activities, along with circus treats.
A Diabetes Self-Management Program will be held every Monday from June 3 to July 15, except June 17, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. This comprehensive six-week program will give attendees information to help them better manage their diabetes, including information about food and other topics. Registration is requested, as space is limited. To register, readers may call the aforementioned phone number.
Annual health programs with HACC nursing students, titled "Ask The Nurses," will continue on upcoming Tuesdays. The students (with instructors) will present on a variety of topics, then answer questions related to those subjects. Reservations are requested but not required, and these programs are open to people of all ages.
A scrapbooking class will be held on Thursday, June 6, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Attendees will learn to assemble their photos and memorabilia in an organized and exciting manner.
Wood-burning workshops/classes are offered on select Fridays, with the next class on June 7. Participants may bring their own projects or purchase limited, low-cost supplies. Instruction and tools will be provided.
Free lunch is served weekdays to anyone at least 60 years of age.
