On Friday, July 19, members will continue with their Bible study based on the book "Experiencing God." This group will meet on the first and third Fridays of most months and focus on the topic "The Word of God." Participants may join at any time.
Planning for a 2019 trip to Ocean City, Md., will continue from 1:30 to 2:30 on July 19. For more details, readers may call the senior center and speak to Marie or Kathy or they may attend the meeting.
A "Christmas in July" craft will be offered on Tuesday, July 23, from 9 to 11 a.m. Participants will make decorative door hanger to give to home-bound people. Materials and instruction will be provided for free.
On Wednesday, July 24, the fourth session of the Great Courses series on the Old Testament will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Each episode features a different part of the Old Testament, as viewed from a historic literature standpoint. Information is presented by experts in the field.
The scrapbooking group will meet on Thursday, July 25, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Paper, other materials, and tools will be provided. Attendees may bring a scrapbook they are working on or photos or memorabilia they want to include in a scrapbook. Attendees will learn techniques that can also be used when framing photos and making cards.
On Friday, July 26, September House will show the film "Sight & Sound Presents Jonah" from 1 to 3 p.m. This is a film of the live play at Sight & Sound Theatres.
The Fit N Fun exercise program is offered daily from 10 to 10:30 a.m. On Wednesdays, there are dancing classes, with exercise games on Fridays. Other activities include the Healthy Steps routine for balance and strength and HasFit and Growing Young routines for cardio and general health benefits.
The senior center also offers a Tang Soo Do class.
Games are played throughout the week. Bingo is played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:45 p.m., with the first card free, and on Wednesdays for all cash as a fundraiser, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. The center offers shuffleboard on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m., and additional players are being sought. All are welcome to play or watch. Board games, cards, and jigsaw puzzles are also available. In addition, wood burning classes and workshops are held on the first and third Fridays.
