York County residents age 60 and up are invited to take a tour, meet members and the staff, stay for lunch, and participate in activities.
Trivia and games with a St. Patrick's Day theme will be held on Monday, March 18.
Wednesday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to noon will be the first installment of the Healthy Steps program, which will conclude with a second meeting on Wednesday, March 27. Healthy Steps is a program to check and improve balance through easy exercises, tips and tricks.
An activity planning meeting will be held on Thursday, March 21, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. New members are welcome.
The senior center will host a Grand Game Night on Friday, March 22, starting at 2 p.m. The event will feature group games, card games and board games. Attendees may bring a favorite game or play from the selection provided. At 5 p.m. there will be a buffet potluck meal, with games to continue until approximately 7 p.m.
Murder Mystery Monday will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on March 25.
Free bingo is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 12:45 p.m. A cash bingo fundraiser is held every Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m. for purchasing from a special menu.
Daily workouts are offered from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial arts program, is taught by a certified teacher on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
The senior center also offers cards and games throughout the week. Pinochle is played every Monday from 1 to 4 p.m., chess is played on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 500 bid is played on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m., and the bridge club meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays. The center offers shuffleboard on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m., and additional players are being sought. All are welcome to play or watch. Board games, cards, and jigsaw puzzles are also available. In addition, wood burning classes and workshops are held on the first and third Fridays.
