September House Posts Schedule

September House, 1251 W. King St., York, has posted its upcoming schedule of activities. For more information, readers may call 717-848-4417 or email September_House2@yahoo.com. York County residents age 60 and up are invited to take a tour, meet members and the staff, stay for lunch, and participate in activities.

On Monday, April 1, York County seniors are welcome to celebrate April Fool's Day. On April 1 and Tuesday, April 2, from 9 to 11 a.m., people will work on making favors for the annual tea party later in the month. Another Lunch Bunch day will be held on Friday, April 5.

Anyone who wants to carpool to "'Round the Clock - East" on Saturday, April 6, can sign up to do so. All attendees will pay for is for the meal they select, and September House members will get a picnic lunch to take home.

Daily workouts are offered from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art, is taught by a certified teacher on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.

The senior center also offers cards and games throughout the week. Pinochle is played every Monday from 1 to 4 p.m., chess is played on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 500 bid is played on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m., and the bridge club meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays. The center offers shuffleboard on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m., and additional players are being sought. All are welcome to play or watch. Board games, cards and jigsaw puzzles are also available. In addition, wood burning classes and workshops are held on the first and third Fridays.

Bingo is played on Mondays and Thursdays at 12:45 p.m. The first card is free. On Wednesdays starting at 6:30 p.m., bingo is played for cash as a fundraiser; doors open at 5 p.m.
