September House Posts Schedule

September House, 1251 W. King St., York, has posted its upcoming schedule of activities. A free lunch is available on weekdays for any York County resident at least 60 years of age. For more information, readers may call 717-848-4417.

A game night will take place on Friday, Aug. 30, from 2 to 8 p.m. It will feature group games and board, card and table games. Attendees may also bring their own games. There will be a potluck, and anyone bringing food is asked to call Marie at 717-848-4417 to register.

September House will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, in honor of Labor Day.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, will be exercising (dancing) to music starting at 10 a.m. Participants will practice old and new dances.

Games are played throughout the week. Bingo is played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:45 p.m., with the first card free, and on Wednesdays for all cash as a fundraiser, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. The center offers shuffleboard on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m., and additional players are being sought. All are welcome to play or watch. Board games, cards and jigsaw puzzles are also available.

On weekdays, a free lunch is served to any York County resident at least 60 years of age.

Volunteers are sought to deliver hot meals to home-bound seniors. The center delivers the meals three mornings a week. This is an unpaid position, but training will be provided and volunteer mileage may be tax deductible.
