An "Exploring the Small Farm Dream" course will be held on Thursdays, May 9, 16 and 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Berks County 4-H Community Center, 1238 County Welfare Road, Leesport. The workshop, for anyone new to farming or thinking about starting a farm, is specifically designed to help evaluate what it takes to farm, what equity and resources one may need, and how to compose a plan on the amount of "sweat equity" needed to invest for success.
Registration fees have been set per person and for two people from the same farm/business. The fee covers a course book, learning materials and resource documents, and light refreshments.
