In October, Dan Snyderman, gifted support teacher for Mountville Elementary School and Landisville Intermediate Center, was awarded the Pennsylvania Association of Gifted Education's (PAGE) Educator of the Year award. Snyderman attended a dinner to receive the award on Nov. 15.
According to PAGE, the Educator of the Year Award is bestowed based on the following criteria: outstanding performance as an educator in or beyond the classroom; understanding the unique traits and learning needs of gifted children; successful networking with school staff, parents, and community on behalf of gifted programs; and involvement in advocacy efforts for gifted students at local and state levels.
PAGE is a nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to helping gifted learners, parents and educators. An affiliate of National Association for Gifted Children since 1951, PAGE has sought to assist parents, teachers and administrators in helping Pennsylvania's gifted learners reach their full potential.
