The Children's Aid Society Southern Pennsylvania District Church of the Brethren recently completed its second iteration of the Incredible Years parenting program. The event took place at Union Lutheran Church in York.
The Incredible Years Training Series targets parents, teachers, and children with the goal of promoting emotional and social competence. The Children's Aid Society was only one of two nonprofits in the greater York area to pilot the program. Volunteers and staff of the Children's Aid Society help parents navigate the role of being a parent in a safe and thought-sharing atmosphere using the Incredible Years program approach.
During the recent series, participants and staff heard from guest speaker Irene Hudson. Hudson is the director of the York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program Department, is an adjunct faculty member and has presented at national and regional conferences on diversity and inclusion and student success. She is a collaborative leader in the Student Success Division, where she uses her motivational and crisis resolution abilities.
