Dallastown Historical Society, 118 E. Main St., Dallastown, will feature "Cigar Making in Dallastown" during its open house on Sunday, April 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. Displays will center on the origins of the cigar industry, the factories, and how the industry shaped the lives of the families in Dallastown during the early 1900s.
Following a short presentation, individuals will be encouraged to share stories passed down in their families. These oral histories will be recorded for the archives. This focus will continue during open house events on Sundays, May 3 and June 7.
The public is invited to attend. Society members will be available to answer any questions or help with research.
