Sportsmen Plan Activities

Manheim Sportsmen's Association, 552 Oak Tree Road, Manheim, has announced its upcoming activities.

The first installment of the trap shooting program will occur on Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to noon. Weather permitting, shoots will be held every Saturday, with a few exceptions, until late October. Trap shooting will also be held from 5 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday starting on April 6. This program is open to the public. Participants must bring their own shells. For more information, call Steve at 717-917-3174.

The club will hold a chicken barbecue on Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the barbecue trailer located at the Manheim Pool entrance. Each meal will include a half-chicken, a baked potato, applesauce, and a muffin and butter, along with a bottle of water. Half-chickens will also be available separately. The retirees' and seniors' monthly coffee and snack hour will take place on Monday, April 11, at 8 a.m. Members and nonmembers are welcome to attend. For more details, call 717-665-7729 or 717-224-0747.

The club will hold its monthly membership meeting on Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. Applications for new members are available at the clubhouse and on the aforementioned website. Completed applications may be submitted at the membership meeting.

Now that the winter indoor archery league has completed its season, the indoor range will again be available on Sunday afternoons and Monday and Wednesday evenings to club members who would like to practice handgun shooting or archery.

The sportsmen's club is sponsoring a BB team, which uses the indoor range each Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The Manheim Central rifle team has wrapped up its season of practices and matches at the Manheim Sportsmen's Association, and these activities will resume in November.
