Sportsmen Post Event Schedule

The Manheim Sportsmen's Association, 552 Oak Tree Road, Manheim, has posted its upcoming schedule. Readers may visit http://www.manheimsportsmansassoc.org for information on all club activities.

The club's monthly membership meeting will take place on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. The meeting will include final nominations for 2020 officers, followed by election of officers. New members are always welcome, and membership renewals for 2020 will be accepted throughout the remainder of the year as well. The monthly coffee hour for retirees and seniors will be held at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16. A full-course breakfast will be served. Guests are welcome. The club will be accepting items to be donated to the Manheim Food Bank, and freewill donations will be accepted toward the expenses of the breakfast. The Manheim Central High School rifle team is again using the indoor range to practice and hold home matches. The students will use the range and services from 3:15 to 6 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, with some exceptions, until their final scheduled event on Feb. 29.

Indoor winter activity in the club's newly refinished lobby and shooting range area will begin in January. On Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, the winter indoor archery league will receive registrations from 1 to 3:30 p.m., with plans to start on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Each Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. is also reserved for the league, which normally completes its schedule by early March, weather permitting. This activity is open to the public for a set fee.

Also on Jan. 26 from 1 to 3:30 p.m., the club's annual member big-game contest will be held in the clubhouse, with antler judging of various game. Trophies or gift certificates will be presented to the winners, their choice in May or June of 2020. For further information, readers may call 717-951-6103.

The club plans to hold a block shoot and a pie shoot, open to the public, on Jan. 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. Only 12-gauge will be used, and the club will supply shells. For more information, readers may call 717-587-6957.
