Old Zion Church, 187 Reifsnyder Road, Lititz, will hold its annual Strawberry Social on Saturday, June 8, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Volunteers will prepare local, homegrown strawberries, along with a wide variety of cakes served with homemade vanilla ice cream from Fox Meadow Creamery and whipped cream. This dessert will be available for a set fee, which will include a choice of beverage.
Homemade chicken corn soup will be cooked on-site in a cast iron kettle. The soup will include local chicken and broth from Sensenig's Poultry, local corn cut from the cob, and fresh homegrown parsley.
Attendees may bring folding chairs and blankets for seating, along with trays for food. The 1813 church building will be open for tours. Local group Southbound 897 will provide musical entertainment.
