More than 30 Lower Dauphin strings students performed in the Dauphin County Music Educators Association orchestra festival Jan. 29 at Susquehanna Township Middle School.
Lower Dauphin students in this ensemble were Audrey Meyers and Makenna Robinson, violin; Cody Dent, Joseph Goduto Gracie White, Mason Dissinger, Elias Miller, and Virginia Huntzinger, viola; Emma Dickinson and Ada Hickey, cello; Antonio Mardegain and Maddox Rooney, double bass. The high school ensemble was under the direction of Franklin & Marshall College's Dr. Brian Norcross.
Lower Dauphin Middle School students performing at the county festival were Kennedy DeBell, Isha Stalin, Kadie Heck, Lila Markowitz, and Ananya Patil, violin; Oine Bello and Anthony Bruno, viola; Chelsea Gula, Ambellina Cartwright, and Cooper Braman, cello; and Levi Dickinson, double bass. Guest conductor for the middle school ensemble was Dr. Diana Curtis, a cellist and elementary school strings teacher in Maryland.
Representing Lower Dauphin in the elementary orchestra, listed by school, were Conewago Elementary School - Magnolia Fuddy, viola; Londonderry Elementary School - Ruth Dunkleberger and Harper Lewis, violin, and Abriella Supernavage, viola; Nye Elementary School - Ellie Cartwright, violin, and Elsie Weller, viola; and South Hanover Elementary School - Esther Pearson and Samantha Imundo, violin. Serving as guest conductor in the elementary orchestra was Elizabeth Lavender, a music teacher in Hempfield School District.
