The DUI Council of Lancaster County has announced the unveiling of a billboard in Lancaster County created by the group Leaders of Future Generations. The billboard, which aims to discourage underage drinking, was created in observation of Alcohol Awareness Month, April, and was unveiled on April 7.
Leaders of Future Generations is a group of peer leaders who encourage their friends to make good decisions and help them when they fall into bad situations. This year's billboard uses the message of "Put Alcohol on the Sidelines." The billboard will be at 1305 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, through Sunday, April 25.
The students who created the billboard are Keegan Kavanaugh, Danny Lester, Alex McCloud, Braedon Martinez, Norah Martin, Molly O'shea, and Paige Laurence. Their advisers were Matt Weaver, Ashley Denlinger, and Vanessa Mendez, all from Compass Mark. Also present at the billboard unveiling were Officer Natalie Littlehale of the Manheim Township Police Department and Terry Trego from Sen. Scott Martin's office.
This billboard design was made possible by a grant from the Lancaster County Drug and Alcohol Commission.
The Leaders of Future Generations group, which is affiliated with Compass Mark, has now created three billboards for the DUI Council of Lancaster County.
