Thao Dai, Red Lion, spent a week of the summer break working to help others in Camden, N.J., through Alvernia University's Alternative Break program. Dai is studying biology at the university.
Alvernia's Alternative Break programs organize weekend and weeklong service and immersion trips for students to inspire and empower them to lead lives dedicated to serving the underserved, promoting peace and justice, and working toward the common good. In Camden, Dai spent the week serving homeless and impoverished individuals.
