The Wrightsville Elementary students who participate in the Bible Adventure Program (formerly known as Released Time) are again collecting soda tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The soda tabs are recycled, and proceeds will help to cover the costs for families to stay at Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House is a place where families can stay for free while their children are in the Hershey Medical Center, which is located near the house. The facility provides the families with a place to stay that is close to their children, and they do not have to pay for a place to stay or food to eat, nor do they need to do laundry. A play room for siblings is also provided.
The Bible Adventure Program participants collect the tabs every year. The students then take the tabs to the Ronald McDonald House, where they are given a tour of the facility so they can see what their collection helps to support. This year, the students have a goal of beating their collection record of 183 pounds, which was set in 2017.
Community members may donate soda tabs to the effort by dropping them off at Lehman's Feedstore, 6141 Lincoln Highway, Wrightsville.
The Bible Adventure Program is a legal, state-approved program that allows public school students to be dismissed from school for biblical education. It is sponsored by Joy El Generation, and it is a nonprofit, nondenominational faith-based ministry for children in grades three through 12.
