Students Hold Food Drive

Bainbridge Elementary School recently held its annual Thanksgiving food drive to help combat hunger in the community during the holiday season. As a result of the weeklong effort to collect nonperishable food items, 25 families in need in the Bainbridge community were slated to receive a food basket stocked with many of the items needed for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Additionally, students brought in household items such as paper towels, napkins, plasticware, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to go along with the food baskets. The school's PTO added gift certificates for a turkey.

The annual food drive has become a tradition at the school and was once again supported by the school's students, faculty, and staff. As part of Elizabethtown Area School District's Life Ready Model, student participation in altruistic projects is intended to extend learning beyond the four walls of the school system.
