STEM Team Places In Competition

The Lower Dauphin High School STEM team earned second place in CAIU's regional event in the Governor's STEM Competition. The event showcased projects in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) created by teams from Dauphin, Perry, Cumberland, Franklin, and northern York counties.

The Lower Dauphin Team included Aiden Mende, Madison Karcesky, Elizabeth Heberlig, Kathleen Carter-Buske, and Sierra Endy. This was the first time competing for all members of this team. They designed and 3-D printed tiles for watchbands that have textures meant to reduce stress and anxiety. The students named their product "Strebb," as it is designed to cause one's stress to ebb.

The team is coached by high school science teacher Beth Kirman.
