Hempfield High School students and Lancaster County Career and Technology Center students have been honored in the SkillsUSA district competition.
The students, their awards, and their programs in school are as follows: Shawn Splain, first place in cabinetmaking competition, currently in the Cabinetmaking and Wood Technology program; Madeline Rohrer, first place in photography competition, currently in the Photography and Digital Imaging program; Diamondli Lopez, first place in medical terminology competition, currently in the Medical Assistant program; Kristine Parschauer, third place in criminal justice competition, currently in the Protective Services Academy program; and William Hollinger, third place in power equipment competition, currently in the RV and Outdoor Power Equipment program.
First-place students will compete in the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Conference on Wednesday, April 10, at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey.
SkillsUSA is a national student organization that develops employability, participatory and leadership skills to complement the occupational skills developed by students in technical education classrooms or work-based learning sites.
