Students Take Virtual Field Trip

Due to COVID-19, Resurrection Catholic School's eighth-grade students had to cancel their class trip. Every year, the eighth-grade class plans a trip to Washington, D.C., to visit different museums, and it is an opportunity for many students to visit the nation's capital for the first time. Throughout the year, students planned and held fundraisers to help cover the cost of their trip. With so many closures, students had to come up with an alternative solution for a class trip. They decided to go on a virtual tour of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

Resurrection students spent two hours exploring the museum from their homes. They were able to view the various fossil exhibits, learn about different creatures that live in the deep ocean, explore African culture and art and view the Hope Diamond. The students said they especially liked the dinosaurs and the mammals.
