Two students from Manor Middle School will attend Destination Imagination Summer Art Camp through scholarships awarded by the Millersville Woman's Club. Alivia Newton and Riley Sanders, rising eighth-graders, have been chosen to attend the weeklong art camp at the Lancaster Museum of Art in the former Grubb Mansion on North Lime Street.
The camp will run Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to noon. Led by professional artists and museum staff, Alivia and Riley will create 3-D arts and crafts, as well as drawings and paintings using a variety of techniques and materials. They will have opportunities to draw inspiration from the museum's art collection and from the downtown setting adjacent to Musser Park. Participants will receive a commemorative camp shirt.
The Millersville Woman's Club raises funds throughout the year for various programs, scholarships, academic awards, and books for students in the Penn Manor School District. To learn more about the club, readers may call 717-992-4188 or 717-284-4588.
