Dozens of students were honored at Senior Awards Night for their work ethic, intelligence, leadership skills, and involvement in extracurricular, community, and church activities.
Among the award and scholarship recipients were Hannah Wheeler, Solanco's Outstanding CTC Student; Morgan Chapman, Brianna Langley, and Alexander Wright, Solanco Education Association Scholarships; Aleksa Burger and Tim Fetterman, Scholar-Athlete Awards; Kara McClune and Joel McGuire, All-Around Athletes; Aleska Burger, Josh Canale, Zoe Goebel, and Logan Yaletchko, Richard A. Cummings Scholarships; and Kyle Osborne, Outstanding Senior Award.
Additionally, four high school seniors have been honored by superintendent Dr. Brian Bliss as this year's recipients of the Solanco School District Expectations Awards. The awards are presented to students who best exemplify Solanco's Core Expectations of Responsibility, Respect, Courage, and Kindness.
Kyle Osborne best fulfills "Act responsibly and take responsibility for their actions." Grace Kreider best exemplifies "Treats themselves and each other with respect." Noah Huyett is the best role model for how to "Act with courage every day." Logan Yaletchko best demonstrates how to "Act with kindness when dealing with others." Each recipient of the Expectations Awards will receive a monetary prize.
