Seven Penn Manor elementary students have won awards in a journalism and advertisement design contest, which was open to all students in Lancaster County. The first-place winners and their teachers were honored at a reception in Lancaster on May 21.
In the Writer's Choice contest for third-graders, honorees are as follows: Morgan Milisock, first place; Mason Barnes, second place; and Amirah Santiago, third place. All three students are taught by Lorien Gilbert at Hambright Elementary.
Second-graders honored in the Writer's Choice contest are Lillian Evans, first place; Lily Quinn, second place; and Emma Shea, third place. Lillian and Lily are students of Beth Kaplan at Eshleman Elementary, and Emma is a member of Shelly Kyle's class at Central Manor Elementary.
Hambright Elementary student Brayton Swartz won second place in the Illustrating Headlines contest for kindergartners. Brayton is a member of Maggie Kyper's class.
