The Slippery Rock University biology department presented more than $28,000 to its majors at its annual Natural Sciences and Mathematics Banquet on April 15.
Recipients from the local area included Micah Garber, a sophomore from Bainbridge, who received the LeAnn Penn Biology-Military Service Scholarship, and Austin Shirk, a junior from Elizabethtown, who received a Biology Faculty Scholarship.
