The story was written in 1844 by Hans Christian Andersen. It has been retold in operas, film, plays, musicals, dance productions, comic books, and video games, as well as on television.
The adaptation that TAFE will present is its premiere production. It was written by York's own Paige Hoke, a theater artist who is currently the director of theater at York Country Day School. Hoke has been active in local community theater and has a theater degree.
TAFE will also include the last pieces of music that Jacquie Sutton had finished writing for "The Snow Queen." Sutton has since passed away.
The cast is comprised of 31 characters.
