Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania is sponsoring an event at which seven local technology entrepreneurs will make pitch presentations to a panel of judges. The TechCelerator Pitch Presentation finale and award ceremony will be held at the Willman Business Center, fifth floor of Yorkview Hall, York College, 441 Country Club Road, on Thursday, April 9, beginning at 4 p.m.
Up to $10,000 is on the table for the winning pitch. For 10 weeks, the entrepreneurs have been participating in Ben Franklin's TechCelerator at J.D. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship, an intensive business Startup Bootcamp Program that has helped launch dozens of startups across central Pennsylvania.
The entrepreneurial companies are B.E.A.S.T. Initiative P.U.S.H. by LaQuinn Thompson, Mya Awkward, and Raheem McCrary; BeSpokify.Me by Jacqueline Hart; CorrellTech by Correll French; Jester Sedano's Pockettrip by Jester Sedano and Samuel Ehrlich; Lemonade Express by Thomas Almanza; Library on Demand by Lennon Mazonde; and Lotus Media by Rahad Khan and Ben Salazar.
B.E.A.S.T. Initiative P.U.S.H. offers a tech-based youth program in urban communities where youths can learn and experience business and technology systems via the e-sports industry. BeSpokify.Me is developing a techno-fashion platform that integrates 3-D avatars and design technologies to provide personalized sizing data shared with designers/garment manufacturers for perfectly fitted clothing. CorrellTech has created a website, app, and management platform for the founders and staffers of Village Organizations, alternative communities for seniors living independently. Jester Sedano's Pockettrip is an interactive and educational app developed to provide information on how to reduce the harm associated with the consumption of both legal and non-legal substances.
Lemonade Express is a web-based platform that will connect individuals in need of help to complete a home project or cleaning job with a local and prescreened worker. Library on Demand provides small- to medium-size libraries an open-source library management system via a web-based platform to increase accessibility of books to underserved communities. Lotus Media uses a mobile sharing app and social network to help individuals or groups share and discover music easily and across multiple streaming platforms.
The panel of judges will feature Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill, representing Pennsylvania's Senatorial 28th District; Patti Stirk, president and CEO of SMALL STAR Art House; and Mark Zeleznock, CEO of Dataforma Inc.
