Salem United Church of Christ (UCC), 2761 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown, will be the host of "An Evening With Ted Yoder: A Night of Stories and Songs" on Friday, Sept. 6, beginning at 7 p.m.
According to the Rev. Dwight Hein, pastor of Salem UCC, Yoder's video of the Tears for Fears song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" went viral, leading the church to seek to bring him to present a concert due to the historic building's acoustics.
Yoder's hammered dulcimer cover of Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" became one of the most-watched Facebook Live posts in 2016 when the song received more than 101 million views. He became an internet sensation known as "Dulcimer Dad."
His performance style in popular songs including Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" and The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," along with classics such as "Amazing Grace" and "The Little Drummer Boy," has become known as "Yoderizing." Yoder will bring copies of his new CD, titled "Feels Like Home."
Tickets are available at http://www.eventbrite.com by searching for "Ted Yoder," with separate costs for adults and for children under age 16. Seating is limited. For more information, readers may contact Sharon VanHoesen at svanhoesen@comcast.net.
Salem UCC is located at the corner of U.S. Route 322 and Hinkle Road.
