Library To Host "Teen Chopped Challenge"

Manheim Community Library has announced the return of the Teen Chopped Challenge, introduced last year as part of the Summer Reading Program. It will be held on Tuesdays, June 25 and Aug. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Teen Central, 15 S. Wolf St., Manheim.

Youths and teenagers ages 11 to 18 will compete in a food preparation challenge similar to the Food Network show. Each participant (or team) will be given a paper bag full of food items. They will be given an hour to prepare an appetizer, main course, or dessert. A panel of judges will then taste and rate each dish. Participants are asked to bring a bowl, measuring cup, and mixing spoon. Spectators are welcome.

This year, the library is partnering with Giant Food Stores as sponsor of the program. Teenagers are asked to register through the events calendar at http://www.manheimlibrary.org.
