Tour Will Feature Local Kitchens

The York Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold its Spring Market Faire Tour of Kitchens on Monday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. At the five York County kitchens on the tour, area chefs will demonstrate cooking techniques for making a variety of dishes.

The chefs and their featured dishes will be as follows: Michael McMonigle, stuffed mushrooms with mustard cream sauce; Dani Sanders, Madeleines au chocolat with raspberry mousse; Douglas Kauffman, traditional deviled eggs with candied black pepper bacon; Chris Kauffman and assistant Linda Brown Krupa, peach and roasted pepper bruschetta; Ellen Shaffer, ice cream; and Carly Rossi, Johnny's super sport Buffalo chicken. Participants may visit each house to watch demonstrations and to taste the foods being prepared.

The ticket fee includes a recipe booklet and the chance to win a variety of door prizes. Tickets are available at Futer Bros Jewelers, 2820 Whiteford Road, Suite 2; Christmas Tree Hill in the Mansion, Christmas Tree Hill, 2801 S. George St.; and Christmas Tree Hill Westgate. Tickets must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold on the day of the tour.

Proceeds will support the AAUW's Graduate and Undergraduate Scholarships, the annual Young Women's Leadership Conference for seventh-grade girls in York County, and the AAUW Fund.
