Conestoga Fire Company has announced that two upcoming trips are planned to benefit the fire company.
On Wednesday, June 26, a trip will visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Kentuck Knob house in Dunbar, Pa. The trip does not involve a lot of walking, and chairs are available. After participants tour the house, they will eat dinner at Old Stone House. The trip may also include a surprise. The bus will leave from Executive Coach, 525 Beaver Valley Pike, Lancaster, at 6:15 a.m. and from Conestoga Fire Hall, 3290 Main St., Conestoga, at 6:30 a.m. There is a per-person fee. A trip featuring fall foliage and train rides in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut is planned for Sunday, Sept. 29, through Wednesday, Oct. 2. Separate fees have been set for single, double, and triple occupancy. Travelers will leave Executive Coach at 6:15 a.m. on Sept. 29, make a stop at Conestoga, and then proceed to Deerfield, Mass. During the trip, activities will include a stop at Yankee Candle, a guided tour at Franconia Notch Park, a ride by cable car on the Cannon Mountain aerial tramway, a turkey dinner and ride on the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, a ride on the Cog Railway, a visit to a maple sugar farm, a stop at Ben & Jerry's for ice cream, and a ride on the Essex Stream Train.
