UZRC Opens Photography Exhibit

Lancaster Camera Club photography is being showcased in October in the Art Gallery at United Zion Retirement Community (UZRC), 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz. The exhibit will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Sunday, Oct. 31.

The featured photographers are Wm Kline, John Rhodes, Robert Willems, Dave Kramer, Anthony Harnish, Lorraine Light, Bob Newell, Donald Kautz, Don Shenk, Jim Goudie, Cynthia Sperko and Rafe Knox. Subjects of the photographs range from Lancaster County to wildlife and from people to food. The Lancaster Camera Club is a diverse group of hobbyist and professional photographers that includes retired ministers, software engineers and volunteer firefighters who all live in Lancaster County.

Kautz is a Lancaster native, landscape photographer and Lancaster County history blogger. Kautz has expanded his work from landscapes to include brightly colored artistic floral photography. In the exhibit, Kautz is displaying "Conestoga Pastoral," from his collection of photos focused on the Conestoga River.

The beauty of Lancaster County is the theme of most of Shenk's photographs and books. He has been a photographer for over 50 years, including time as a freelance photographer for a local newspaper.

Sperko is a personal branding photographer with a focus on food photography. She is showcasing landscape, food and vintage railroad images. Jim Goudie is a retired minister and volunteer photographer at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster city.

The Lancaster Camera Club has been a meeting place for professional and amateur photographers to share and inspire since the 1980s. The club hosts monthly meetings, along with a variety of special events, including juried competitions, photoshoots, trips, workshops and lectures.

All Art Gallery visitors will be screened and are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth.
