Jannat Veras was newly appointed to the advisory board of the Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster (MCCL). She brings a range of expertise, having served on boards for Everence Financial Credit Union, Assets, Lancaster Health Services, and the Atlantic Coast (Mennonite) Conference Executive Committee. As owner and operator of Jannat Beauty Design, Veras brings business experience as well.
Veras was born in the Dominican Republic and came to the United States when she was 17 years old. Veras and her husband, Francisco Veras, also from the Dominican Republic, have four children, three of whom sing in MCCL. She is involved at Laurel Street Mennonite Church in Lancaster.
MCCL is currently accepting auditions and registrations for performing choirs and classes. Prospective singers interested in the performing choirs (second through 12th grades) should schedule a 15-minute audition time slot with Sarah Wingard by calling 540-383-9986 or emailing carolandconcertchoir@lancastermennonite.org. Registration for the Prelude Music (kindergarten and first grade) or the Choristers classes (second through eight grades) does not require an audition and may be completed through the MCCL website.
