Veritas Academy Posts Open House

Veritas Academy, a preschool through 12th-grade classical Christian school in Leola, will host an open house on Saturday, March 26. Attendees can drop in any time between 10 and 11:30 a.m.

At the event, families will have opportunities to talk with teachers, administrators, and current students in a casual environment. Classrooms will be open for students and parents to explore, with open activities like crafts, games, and story times in the lower grammar school classrooms. Those who attend will also enjoy a continental breakfast and receive a goodie bag containing a classic children's novel, with children able to choose from five options; a book for parents; coupons to Fox Meadows Creamery and Tiny Town; and other gifts.

There is no cost to register, but reservations are requested. To make reservations, visit http://www.veritasacademy.com/open-house or call the school at 717-556-0690 between 7:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.

Because Veritas Academy has experienced robust growth in recent years, families are encouraged to visit and apply early in order to ensure their student's spot, as many classes are expected to fill quickly. As of March 10, most spots were available in kindergarten, first grade, second grade, seventh grade, and ninth grade.

Established in 1996, Veritas Academy now serves over 300 students. Accredited by the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS), Veritas Academy employs the guidelines of the trivium - grammar, logic, and rhetoric - in its education philosophy, capitalizing on the different strengths in each developmental stage to enhance a child's learning ability and experience. The school seeks to produce graduates who are well-versed in facts and knowledge, are well-spoken in any situation, and have well-formed thinking and a keen ability to reason.
