Penn State Extension will offer an eight-week walking program, Everybody Walk Across Pennsylvania, which will run from Monday, Sept. 13, to Monday, Nov. 8.
Participants may sign up as individuals or in teams of up to five members. Team members may walk at a time and place convenient to them, but they should try to walk an average of 10 miles per week or exercise an equivalent amount. An exercise conversion chart is available to help participants convert physical activity into miles walked. Additionally, weekly newsletters include motivators to keep walking and strategies for eating healthfully.
Individuals of all levels of physical ability are encouraged to participate.
