Approximately one year ago, UPMC Memorial Hospital transported a small number of patients from its long-standing location in east York on South Belmont Street to its new facility at 1701 Innovation Drive, York. Over the past year, UPMC Memorial has seen more than 32,865 visits to the Emergency Department and admitted more than 3,220 patients. In addition, it has had more than 850 babies born along with multiple sets of twins and two international adoptions.
As UPMC Memorial looks forward to the future, it will continue to expand services, including heart and vascular and maternal fetal medicine. The hospital also plans to open a Level 2 NICU by the end of 2020.
In addition to the hospital, UPMC Memorial also opened the UPMC Outpatient Center last year. The 120,000-square-foot, five-level building includes UPMC Leader Surgery Center, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, and diagnostic and ancillary services.
In addition to its facilities, the UPMC Memorial campus also includes a 3.5-mile walking trail. In recognition of UPMC Memorial's anniversary, the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation launched a fundraising campaign for walking trail improvements, including paving and widening sections of the trail, improving signage and accessibility, and adding benches, greenery, fitness stations, and resources for wildlife.
