"Warehoused," a 72-minute documentary that examines the plight of long-term refugees in Kenya's Dadaab refugee camp, will be shown from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Derry Road, Hershey. This documentary follows several people as they try to carve out an existence in a residence that was designed to be temporary but has become permanent.
Following the screening, staff from Church World Services (CWS) Lancaster will share their first-hand experiences living in the Dadaab refugee camp and take questions from the audience. CWS is a faith-based organization supporting the refugee community with resettlement, employment, and immigration legal services.
The program is free of charge, and light refreshments will be served. The event is hosted by the church's Mission and Peace Committee in recognition of International Refugee Day on Thursday, June 20.
