Weachter To Display Paintings

Marion Weachter's latest collection of artwork will be on display at Mulberry Art Studios, 19 to 21 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster. "Flowjects" will open with a First Friday reception on Oct. 1 from 5 to 9 p.m. and run through Sunday, Oct. 31.

"Flowjects" features flowers and objects, and Weachter said she chose this title for her exhibit because it sounded edgy while also perfectly describing the pieces that make up this collection. In painting the works to be exhibited, she felt challenged to create one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

Weachter was born and raised in West Willow and moved to Manheim in 2012. As a child, she dreamed of going to art school, but she did not realize this dream and did not think about art for many years in her young adulthood. Then came some difficult years, as Weachter lost both her parents and her spouse. She rediscovered her love of art at a paint night in 2015. She had never painted with acrylics before this outing and found she liked the medium, so she continued to learn by watching instructional video on YouTube from artists such as The Art Sherpa and Cinnamon Cooney.

Mulberry Art Studios offers free parking in its private lot. For more information, visit http://www.mulberryartstudios.com.
