WellSpan Posts Program Slate

WellSpan Health has scheduled a variety of programs and meetings.

Free health screenings, information about health topics and interaction with medical experts will be available at the free Women's Health and Wellness Fair to be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at the WellSpan Ephrata Health Pavilion, 175 Martin Ave., Ephrata. Held during Women's Health Month, the event requires registration by calling 855-237-4222.

The Cancer Support Group will meet from 3 to 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at the WellSpan Ephrata Cancer Center, 460 N. Reading Road, Ephrata. This month's topic is "Prepare Healthy Snacks." No preregistration is required. For more information, readers may call 717-721-4835.

Two programs to help people with diabetes will be offered. Unless otherwise noted, they will be held at the WellSpan Cocalico Health Center, 63 W. Church St., Stevens. To register for any program, readers may call 717-721-8790. Taking Charge of Your Diabetes will occur from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays from May 23 to June 27; variable fees apply. A free Diabetes Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 13, and at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at the WellSpan Garden Spot Health Center, 435 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland.

WellSpan also will host three wellness classes. Unless noted, all classes will be held at the WellSpan Cocalico Health Center, and fees have been set. Classes include Basic Life Support - CPR from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 11, and from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29; Heartsaver Adult, Child, and Infant CPR with AED Training from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 17; and a Grocery Store Tour from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at Weaver Markets, 2610 N. Reading Road, Adamstown.

A free program about surgery for weight loss will be offered at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, at the WellSpan Ephrata Health Pavilion. For more information or to register, readers may call 717-721-8795.
