The Millersville Woman's Club will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville. This meeting will also be the club's annual Men's Night, so women attending are invited to bring a male companion.
The speaker will be Christine Lurk, aka "Miss Victory." She hails from California, although she has called Pennsylvania her home for the past 37 years. She currently resides in the Gettysburg area. She retired after 10 years as a corrections officer at the Adams County Prison.
Lurk has a passion for studying and collecting artifacts from the World War II home front. That interest began in 2009 when she attended her first World War II Weekend and Air Show in Reading. It further blossomed as she joined The Victory Society and began re-enacting in the role of a member of the Greatest Generation, which she hopes to honor with her show-and-tell program.
