Wren, Little Recognized

Two Lower Dauphin High School seniors were recently honored. Luke Wren was named Student of the Month for April by the Rotary Club of Hummelstown, and Kate Little was named Young Woman of the Month for April by the Women's Club of Hummelstown.

Luke is the son of Denise Telford-Wren and Andrew Wren. He is a four-year member of the baseball and golf teams, as well as a three-year member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society and a two-year member of the Spanish National Honor Society.

In the community, Luke plays travel baseball. He is also active with his church and volunteers with Lower Dauphin Communities That Care's Study Buddy program and at the Middletown/Royalton Food Bank.

He plans to attend Elizabethtown College or Penn State University and major in civil or environmental engineering.

Kate is the daughter of Erik and Jennifer Little. She is a four-year member of the orchestra, playing the cello. She played in the pit orchestra for two years and also was in the cast of "Mamma Mia!" in her sophomore year. She is a two-year member of the Science National Honor Society and the National Latin Honor Society. She is also a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society.

In the community, Kate volunteers with the Manada Conservancy and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and she helps with Falcon Packs. She also participated in the Lebanon Valley Honors Orchestra and the Dauphin County Music Educators Association's Orchestra Festival.

She will attend Dickinson College and join the school's orchestra.
