York County Literacy Council (YCLC) is offering free nurse aide preparation classes. They will meet Mondays through Thursdays; Fridays will only be used in the case of inclement weather. Perfect attendance is required. The last day of class will include a mini job fair.
Applicants must complete a contact information form by Wednesday, Feb. 26. It is available at http://www.YorkLiteracy.org; by calling 717-845-8719, ext. 1013; or by stopping by YCLC, 800 E. King St., York. Applicants must also attend a two-day orientation on Tuesday, March 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, and they must be available to attend the full three-week course from Monday, March 9, to Thursday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The classes are not a certification course. Certification is available for a fee through other institutions.
