The York County Solid Waste Authority (YCSWA) has canceled residential and commercial deliveries of waste and electronics to the York County Resource Recovery Center on Saturdays until further notice. Residential electronics recycling has been suspended until further notice as well. These actions are being taken to reduce exposure for staff and customers in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The Resource Recovery Center will continue to be open to residents and commercial waste haulers on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for waste deliveries only. Residents who have curbside waste disposal service are asked to refrain from delivering other waste to the Resource Recovery Center until after the pandemic has passed. Most waste haulers have suspended bulk item pickup and yard waste collection.
Additionally, the YCSWA is requiring all waste haulers, residential customers, and visitors to the York County Resource Recovery Center to wear a mask or face covering while on-site.
