The YMCA of York and York County will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at noon to celebrate the start of construction at the Southern Branch YMCA, 100 Constitution Ave., Shrewsbury. The organization recently completed a $5.5 million capital campaign, which will bring necessary upgrades to the Southern Branch YMCA's multi-use space and aquatics facilities.
Leaders from the community and YMCA will kick off the event on the lawn in front of the building, followed by the official groundbreaking and lunch. Anyone from the community is welcome to attend to hear about the projects and learn more about the YMCA.
